Logistic Support Analysis (LSA)

HR4's Logistic Support Analysis services provide MoDs with a tailored solution that precisely meets customer and end-user requirements. Our Logistic Support Analysis service is geared to meet the challenges of hostile environments.

LSA Methodology

HR4 employs controlled methodology throughout the project, carrying out careful and detailed analysis that results in cost-effective spares recommendations.

  • HR4's Logistic Support Analysis Methodology is centred on confirming the client's equipment support policy - setting the guidelines and parameters for the detailed analysis.
  • HR4 works closely with the equipment manufacturer to analyse the Bill of Materials (BOM) and develop a physical or functional Equipment Breakdown Structure (EBS). The hierarchical structure of the EBS is the key to not only the provision of the appropriate spares, but it forms the basis for the maintenance, task analysis, support of test equipment, and Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC).
  • The EBS is further developed to include Logistic Control Number (LCN), a discrete identifier for every component, which in turn facilitates the detailed examination required for the Level of Repair Analysis (LORA).

DEFCON 82

HR4 can provide detailed spares recommendations in DEFCON 82 format. Presented in electronic format, the final output can provide recommended spares holdings, for a given time period, for all lines of support. This is in line with the requirements of the Equipment Support Policy.

Priming Equipment Packs (PEPs)

HR4 provide Priming Equipment Packs (PEPs) - task-based spares lists. These spares lists can be further manipulated, if required, with fielding and repair algorithms to determine spares ranging and scaling requirements to support one or more training and/or operational deployments.

Through-Life Management

Continual analyses of aspects of failure and spares usage, as customers' situations and needs change, may result in a requirement to amend the initial provisioning and scaling. This will ensure an up-to-date, appropriate and cost effective spares solution that adheres to customers' real time requirements.
